There seemed to be a disagreement this February among some world-famous groundhogs. While Punxsutawney Phil saw his shadow at Gobbler’s Knob, Staten Island Chuck and a few other members of the ground squirrel family were sitting under gloomy skies. Whether your local groundhog predicted six more weeks of cold weather like Phil or an early spring like Chuck, now is the time for vegetable gardeners, farmers, and flower lovers to get a head start on starting those seedlings for this year’s crops.
Pot It Up!
In some locations, this is easier said than done. Folks who live in very cold climates need to start those seedlings indoors, but if your garage is anything like mine—so filled with tools and supplies that you can’t even fit your car in—you might want to consider building a separate little spot just for indoor planting. These crafty customers built a beautiful potting shed, complete with sunny wall decor, and topped it all off with our Pyramid Illusion Styrofoam Ceiling Tiles.
To make up for the lack of sunlight on these long, dark winter days, you can install plant growth lights, greenhouse windows, or even a couple of skylights.
And to add a little touch of whimsy, let your kids or grandkids paint some wall decor. They’ll love seeing their handiwork on the walls, and, who knows, they might even become interested in gardening, too!
Illusions of Grandeur
We named these tiles “Pyramid Illusion” because even though they are standard flat tiles, the sharply embossed parallel lines meet at a 90 degree angle in the center of each tile to give an impression of three dimensions.
This dimensional impression adds interest as well as a feeling of order and tidiness.
The tiles were painted a lovely golden wood tone that complements the white wooden siding and cute hand-painted signs.
Other color choices might be pine or leaf green, or sunny yellow to brighten up those rainy April days.
It doesn’t take a lot of room to be a great gardener. With our Pyramid Illusion Decorative Ceiling Tiles and a small potting shed, anyone can have a green thumb!
